Meditation: THE PROMISE OF ETERNAL LIFE
Scripture Reading: TITUS 1:1-3
Contributing Author: Amos Tukura
This book starts by introducing Apostle Paul as a servant of God. Paul acknowledged that he was a slave to God and Christ’s agent for promoting the faith of Christ among God’s people.
God’s desire is to have children that will be sold out to serving Him and His people. A life of service is a life that brings honour.
Apostle Paul identifies his aim as, first, getting out the accurate word of God and how to respond to it. The content of the word we preach will determine the type of Christians we produce, hence the quality of the word we listen to will determine the quality of Christians we become. Secondly, he claims that his aim was to raise hope by promoting the way to life without end.
Who is this way that leads to life eternal that Paul spoke about?
“Jesus saith unto him; I am the Way,the Truth and the Life: no man cometh to the father, but by me”
Just like Paul, our aim should be to raise the hope of men by encouraging them about the reality of heaven, eternal life. If we should have hope only in this world, we will indeed be weighed down and depressed
1 Corinthians 15:19 KJV
 If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.
Jesus promised us eternal life. He had to leave to prepare a place for us that where He is there we might be also. This should be our hope always. The one who has promised will never fail us because he is not a man that he should lie.
We have been entrusted to proclaim this goodnews. Let’s pass it on and around. Keep hope alive.
1. Lord give me a servant’s heart
2. Lord help me to take the message of hope to my world
3. Lord help me to keep your commandments
4. Lord help me to keep heaven in view at all times.
My hope is in Christ who never fails, Heaven is mine, eternal life is mine in Jesus name
Colossians 1:23 KJV
 If ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature which is under heaven; whereof I Paul am made a minister;
